WannaCry ransomware ran wild as over 100 countries were found to have infected computers in a matter of minutes. Unpatched and basically unprotected computers were encrypted leaving data inaccessible.
Microsoft has taken the next step by introducing an emergency patch for all computers once again. This time they are including Windows XP and Windows 8. Both computer operating systems have reached the end of life cycle meaning regular patches are not being crafted for them.
This ransomware attack while not the last was the 1st wake up call to users who never believed the warnings that this could happen....
